WordPress REST API usage and the usage of the WooCommerce API built upon this structure have previously been covered in various articles, as well as the XML2WOO plugin, which converts the content of specific XML files (typically provided by pre-packaged e-commerce solutions) into WooCommerce products.
Mixture, on the other hand, serves as a service that enables management of content (Content-Type) in XML/[JSON] formats.
Mixture
Mixture is an integration service that enables data exchange between source and target URLs (API endpoints). For instance, suppose you’re using an e-commerce site, a supplier, or a stock management application. Suppose you have an XML file or URL, or an API endpoint, and you’d like to transfer the products from that endpoint to platforms such as WooCommerce, Akeneo PIM, Headless CMS, or e-commerce marketplaces. In this case, you simply need to specify the application or platform where you’d like the content to be transferred in the target section, while providing the given URL in the source section. This allows you to set up WordPress/WooCommerce XML integrations or API connections with just a few clicks.
For information about the Mixture application and to request a demo, visit the mixture.dnomia.com website.
After defining both source and destination, when you click the Pull Data (en: Pull) button, the data from your specified source is retrieved and recorded. You can view a summary of the retrieved data in the Tables (en: Tables) section. When you click the Push Data (en: Push) button, the retrieved data is sent regularly to the destination address you specified.
Mixture is an independent application and does not consume your website’s resources. As a result, it will not be used for processing data transmitted from your website or for serving it to your visitors, which means your website will experience fewer issues in case of potential malfunctions.
Mixture is currently in closed beta. You can contact us via the form located in the section below the article for free usage. During the beta period, personal use is limited and free of charge. You can create support and development requests directly within the application.
Mixture and Operation Mode
You can start using the application after your account has been approved. The Integrations section is the area where data exchange takes place. You can link your sources and destinations, such as services, applications, or websites. The application can also be used solely for visualizing your data. Therefore, a destination is not mandatory. You can define a destination separately at your convenience.
For example, you are managing your products on e-commerce websites using Stockmount1, but you also have an e-commerce site either directly on your website or running on the Ideasoft platform, and you’d like to transfer these products to a new e-commerce site you’re setting up on WooCommerce (or any other popular e-commerce platform alternative). Mixture enables you to perform such integrations, as well as many others like them.
With Get Data, you can retrieve products from your source system, and with Send Data, you can send the data to your target address in a formatted manner. Each time you click the Get Data button, the latest data is fetched and your previous data is versioned. The sending process is performed using the most recent version. Once you initiate the sending process, the application will handle the remaining steps automatically, so you no longer need to keep the application open.
You can view a summary of the sent data under the Tables section. A separate table is created and versioned for each integration. You may also delete previous versions and tables if desired.
Once the transfer is complete, you can access your products or other sent data directly through WooCommerce or your designated other target address. That’s all.
