The last application I’ll be discussing regarding business acumen and data analytics is Alteryx. According to the Gartner survey results, it has emerged as the visionary leader1 2. Alteryx is developed by the company bearing the same name.

Unlike other applications, its ease of customization through the R language and practical integration with Tableau has fostered the formation of a unique community.

When speaking about the community, I must also mention notes on Alteryx Istanbul Self-Service Analytics—otherwise, it would be incomplete. In Istanbul, regular events are held monthly, organized by Altan Atabarut, where training sessions on Alteryx usage take place, and updates on the application’s use cases are shared3. As a result, members of the group can directly access up-to-date information about the application.

Alteryx Usage

The Alteryx platform prefers the Windows environment when using tools such as Alteryx Designer4, Alteryx Server5, Alteryx Connect6, and Alteryx Promote7. For macOS and Ubuntu, you can use KNIME, RapidMiner, and Weka. The platform is available for free for Foundation, Education, and Government use cases8.

For an application featuring numerous tools within a node-based interface, customized solutions can be accessed under Workflows9. For training, the Alteryx Academy offers interactive lessons, live training, and weekly challenges, covering all topics you may need10. Alteryx will soon open access to expert training programs, providing the opportunity to obtain free Alteryx Designer Core and Alteryx Designer Advanced certifications11. Additionally, I should note that developments have also been made by the dedicated community, ensuring support for any topic12.
