One of the prominent online solutions that emerged during the pandemic period is appointment scheduling.
Among the leading options, particularly for businesses offering health and beauty services, are appointment systems such as Acuity Scheduling1.
Acuity Scheduling
Acuity Scheduling, an online appointment management solution founded in 2006 by Gavin Zuchlinski, was acquired in April 2019 by Squarespace2 3 4, a website building and hosting company.
Acuity Scheduling is a cloud-based appointment scheduling software solution that enables individuals and/or businesses to manage appointments online. The product caters to both small and medium-sized businesses as well as individual professionals5 6.
Acuity Scheduling provides users with an instant view of their preferred time slots, integrated with their calendar. This allows appointment requests to be automatically synchronized and time slots to be reserved. Calendar synchronization is automatically performed based on users’ time blocks.
Thanks to the available payment options, users can complete a purchase during the booking process. After completing their registration, users receive regular updates regarding developments related to their scheduled appointments.
Acuity Scheduling, offering Emerging, Growing, and Powerhouse subscription options, integrates with numerous services through third-party app integrations, including customizable scheduling and booking forms7.
Via the service, a wide range of operations can be efficiently managed including payments through Stripe, Square, and PayPal, class and group event management, Google Calendar, iCloud, Outlook Office 365, Outlook Exchange, and Outlook.com calendar syncing and one-way calendar sync (1-way Subscription), online video streaming with Zoom, Google Meet, and GoToMeeting, and Pipedrive CRM support.
By the way, you can also access and manage the relevant appointment feature via the Squarespace website management panel under the Scheduling header, and integrate the appointment system with your website8.
Acuity Scheduling Usage
Upon selecting any subscription option, you’ll be granted a 7-day free trial period. To activate a monthly or annual subscription, you must select a plan based on the duration of the trial. However, you can convert your account to a free status by following the My Account > Billing > Free steps. In this case, however, many features (calendar syncing, page customization, scheduler embedding, reminders, and notifications) will not be available.
To begin appointment management, you must first complete a three-step setup process: activation, calendar syncing, and appointment type definition.
After these operations, the appointment scheduler can be shared with customers via the URL tool or the embed option.
